My story

Hi, I’m a Doctorally Prepared Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of NursefirstNP. I'm also a passionate Nursing Tutor and Mentor.

My journey through the Nursing Program wasn’t easy. I didn’t struggle because I lacked dedication—I struggled because I didn’t know how to study or what to focus on. I spent countless hours reviewing the wrong material, which led to failed exams—including pharmacology—and nearly failing out of nursing school entirely.

Adding to the challenge, I suffered a traumatic brain injury at age 16. Navigating nursing school with those added hurdles felt overwhelming. But through perseverance and faith, I made it through.

I made a vow to God: if He got me through the program, I would dedicate myself to helping other nursing students avoid the same pitfalls. NursefirstNP is the fulfillment of that promise. It's my way of paying it forward—by providing guidance, mentorship, and the kind of support I wish I had during my journey.
